Tetsu Kuro Urushi Nuri 28KEN Suji So-fukurin Akoda nari Kabuto. The kabuto is signed "jyo". From the Haruda school. A beautifully crafted hachibanza, with exquisitely carved kuwakatadai, and kamon on the hukigaeshi.
Original tsubo sode.
The overall lacquer, leather, and rope are Edo-period restorations. However, the original patina is still visible on the hukurin.
With a certificate from the Japanese Armor Society. Juyo-bunkashiryo. The certificate records that the item is from the Muromachi period and was restored during the Edo period.
